Fireman’s Parade

The Kutztown Fire Company is holding a parade on Saturday, 4 May 2024 to commemorate the addition of a new fire engine.  The fire company has a rich history of successful parades (the most recent was in 2008 to celebrate their 100th anniversary).  The first official fire parade occurred during Kutztown’s Centennial Celebration in 1915.  Saturday, 3 July 1915 was designated Fireman’s Day during the borough’s weeklong celebration.  In addition to hosting marching brigades from fire companies across Pennsylvania, the parade featured the Kutztown Fire Company’s brand new fire engine – a Brockway Chemical and Hose truck that was delivered two days before the parade.  This truck is currently on display in Phoenix, Arizona at the Wall of Flame fireman’s museum.

The Kutztown Fire Company was organized on 14 January 1908 with the following officers:

C.D. Herman – President
